Job summary

Kansas State University Extension is seeking an on-site Extension agent to lead and evaluate educational programming that strengthens families and communities across Wallace County. This role will coordinate 4-H youth activities, support gardening education, and engage volunteers and partners to advance K-State's five critical issues.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and a commitment to flexible hours, including some evenings and travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and related coursework/experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage groups.
  • Experience delivering information, training, or education to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming for healthy, sustainable communities.
  • Coordinate Wallace County 4-H youth development program and events.
  • Support the Wallace County Extension Master Gardener program and related horticultural education.
  • Engage in community vitality programming to strengthen civic, social, and economic capacity.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to extend program reach and impact.
  • Pursue internal and external funding to support programming.
  • Provide oversight for the Wallace County office staff and collaborate with Sunflower District.
