Job summary

Michigan State University Extension seeks a Government and Community Vitality Educator to lead statewide programming on land-use planning, governance, and community vitality. The role collaborates with faculty, SEMCOG, and local partners to advance MSU Extension priorities across Michigan.

You will design, deliver, and evaluate educational programs, and work with district leaders to meet priority needs. Flexible office options include Oakland, Macomb, or Wayne County locations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in urban planning, public administration, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience in educational program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, conduct, and evaluate statewide educational programs on planning and governance.
• Build and maintain partnerships with state, county, and local agencies and stakeholders.
• Deliver research-based information through in-person and multimedia formats.
• Collaborate with MSU Extension colleagues to align programming with statewide needs and priorities.
• Prepare reports and materials to document program outputs and impacts.
