Job summary

RSRPD is seeking a Transportation Aide to operate a 14-passenger vehicle, transporting participants enrolled in district programs and staff to and from facilities and events. The role requires safe driving practices and adherence to laws and district policies.

Hours vary and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays; position may assist with activity programming at destination locations.

Candidates should have a CA Class B license with Passenger Endorsement and First Aid/CPR desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Understanding and ability to apply safe driving practices.
• Basic preventative maintenance of automotive equipment.
• Ability to detect damage to vehicle and/or improper functioning of its mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of state and county traffic and motor vehicle regulations.
• Ability to work with all age groups.
• Ability to follow and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to maintain order and compliance with safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to organize time schedules, keep records and prepare reports.
• Must wear safety equipment (safety belt).

Responsibilities

• Operate a 14-passenger vehicle on scheduled routes and times.
• Pick up and drop off passengers at predetermined locations.
• Monitor passenger conduct and safety during transport.
• Inspect vehicle and report issues; assist with maintenance as needed.
• Maintain travel time, mileage, gas usage, and passenger logs and prepare reports.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
