Job summary

The University of Minnesota Tourism Center is seeking a CTD Specialist to lead the CTD work portfolio, design and deliver research-based CTD programs, and build an Area of Excellence in collaboration with department colleagues and external partners. The role emphasizes program development, research leadership, and cross-unit collaboration to advance Minnesota communities through tourism.

The Specialist will drive applied CTD scholarship, secure resources, and share findings with stakeholders;

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, at time of application, in tourism, community development, or a related field.
• Two years of professional experience in designing, developing and delivering programming and community coaching on CTD.
• Ability to apply research to program design, delivery and evaluation.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, communities, colleagues, partners, and participants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the CTD work portfolio and contribute to implementing the Tourism Center strategic plan.
• Develop and lead an Area of Excellence (AoE) in CTD to align staff capabilities with community needs.
• Lead applied CTD research, secure funds, and disseminate findings to diverse audiences.
