Position Summary:

As a Community Technician 1, you are a multi-faceted maintenance professional responsible for preparing vacant apartments for occupancy and providing quality service in a timely manner to our residents and the community. Your tasks include working in vacant and occupied apartments, performing painting, drywall repairs, and maintenance requests. You will also conduct daily maintenance to enhance asset value and community integrity. You should be able to work independently, complete work orders and unit turns efficiently, and deliver excellent customer service to residents, colleagues, and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy: painting, drywall repair, trash removal, mechanical, plumbing, electrical repairs
• Perform system repairs: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances
• Carpentry, drywall repairs, interior/exterior painting
• Identify appropriate paint sheen and color for touch-ups
• Repair flooring: plank, vinyl, carpet
• Address resident service requests promptly
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Maintain pools (if applicable): chemical balance, logs
• Grounds maintenance: trash, pet waste, walkways
• Participate in property improvements and scheduled maintenance
• Utilize Weidner-issued cell phone and apps
• Travel between properties using personal vehicle
• Participate in on-call rotation

Qualifications:

• 1+ years maintenance experience
• Painting and drywall repair experience preferred
• Solid mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, climb ladders, stairs
• Use of appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 lbs
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, appliances, pools
• EPA certification preferred
• Ability to work safely, efficiently, and in a fast-paced environment
• Criminal background check and drug testing consent
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, insurance
