Job summary

Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist an individual living in Frenchtown, NJ, in private homes and the community. You will provide one-on-one, person-centered care, focusing on independence, daily living skills, and meaningful engagement.

The role is part-time, in-person, with a focus on safe participation in community activities and structured outings.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle (community-based support required).
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming as needed).
• Supporting housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning).
• Preparing meals according to dietary needs.
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living skills.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual living in Frenchtown, Hunterdon County, NJ.

This is a community-based position. The DSP will provide support in the individual’s home and assist with safe, structured participation in community activities.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently in a one-on-one setting.

Our approach to services is person-centered, meaning we focus on the individual’s preferences in what they would like out of services.

Seeking a DSP to help him maintain his personal space, assisting with errands, and providing companionship and transportation/support for short outings and day trips centered around activities he enjoys.

SCHEDULE:

• x2 days of service
• flexible
• 5 hours shift
• 10 hours a week

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation

Starting Pay: $22–$28 per hour (based on experience and Individualized Service Plan complexity)
