Job summary

Royal Community Support is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist an individual living in Elizabeth, NJ. This part-time, in-person role focuses on one-on-one support, daily living skills, transportation, and community activities to promote independence and safety.

You will work Tuesday and Thursday mornings, with 4.5 hour shifts totaling 9 hours weekly, and you must have a high school diploma, a valid license, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming as needed).
• Support housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning).
• Prepare meals according to dietary needs.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills.
• Follow individualized service plans and behavior support strategies.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual living in Elizabeth Union County, NJ.

This is a community-based position. The DSP will provide support in the individual’s home and assist with safe, structured participation in community activities.

The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently in a one‑on‑one setting.

Our approach to services is person‑centered, meaning we focus on the individual’s preferences in what they would like out of services.

DSP who can provide support and assistance while she attends classes at King University. She would benefit from a dependable and supportive DSP who can help her stay engaged and successful with her academic activities.

SCHEDULE

• Tuesdays & Thursdays
• 9:30am - 2:00pm
• 4.5 hours shifts
• 9 hours a week

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Reliable personal vehicle (community-based support required)
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
• Authorized to work legally in the United States

Compensation

• Starting Pay: $22–$28 per hour (based on experience and Individualized Service Plan complexity)
