Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Hannibal, MO is hiring a Community Support Specialist to work with clients to develop personalized care plans and promote independence through community-based mental health services.

You will collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and schools to implement treatment plans and document progress, using evidence-based methods such as CBT and DBT.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with mental health services and community-based support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-based mental health services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention implementation.
• Collaborate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Utilize a strengths-based approach that incorporates evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Positive Reinforcement Techniques, Trauma-Informed Strategies, CBT, and DBT.
• Provide behavioral interventions using methods including cognitive processing, operant conditioning, and group dynamics.
• Coordinate care with external providers including physicians, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and client progress.
• Facilitate PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation) group sessions as aligned with treatment plan goals.
• Participate in ongoing staff development and training opportunities.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives through data collection and reporting.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with families, schools, and community supports.
