Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Community Support Specialist in Brockton, MA to help individuals with developmental disabilities obtain and maintain community-based employment. You’ll provide job development, one-to-one training, and ongoing supervision to build job-related skills and positive relationships with consumers, coworkers, and employers.

Responsibilities include job development, skills training, transportation to activities, advocating for client needs, and timely documentation while supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience providing services to individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).

What You’ll Do: Community Employment Specialists at BAMSI's Brockton Employment Services provide necessary support to enable individuals with developmental disabilities to acquire and maintain community based employment in business and industry. Support provided includes job development, providing one-to-one training to clients as well as ongoing supervision to ensure acquisition of job related skills and responsibilities and facilitating and developing positive relations between the consumer, the consumers coworkers and employer.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma/GED; mental health experience preferred.

• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus : Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
