Job summary

Sandy City seeks a Recreation Programmer to plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, supervise and assess diverse educational, recreational, and fitness programs, with emphasis on sports programming, to meet Parks & Recreation goals and community needs.

Under supervision of the Recreation Division Manager, you will ensure staffing, supplies, and equipment, monitor operations, handle complaints, and maintain strong relationships with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or a closely related field is required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License; one-year probationary period is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, supervise and assess programs; especially sports programming.
• Monitor day-to-day operations, site visits, and resolve complaints; ensure staffing, materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with staff and the public; maintain relationships and handle scheduling to meet department goals.
