Job summary

Allen County Government in Fort Wayne, Indiana, seeks a Community Service Supervisor to oversee the Community Service Work Crew and ensure contracted tasks are completed accurately and safely.

You will supervise participants, manage attendance, arrange transportation, and maintain vehicles and equipment while adhering to department policies and safety standards. Ongoing training in EBP, CIT, and MI is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and more than one year of experience in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Knowledge of legal terminology and the criminal justice system as it relates to Allen County Community Corrections.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to supervise high-risk misdemeanor and/or felony offenders.
• Defensive tactics and related trainings as assigned, within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise over 13 participants in a Community Service Work Crew and ensure contract work is completed.
• Assign tasks and hours based on individual performance.
• Transport participants and equipment to sites and maintain contact with the Communications Division.
• Maintain attendance records and hours worked; prepare incident or observation reports as needed.
• De-escalate sensitive situations and ensure safety for participants and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; oversee ACCC facilities.
