Job description

The City of Savage is now accepting applications for a part-time Community Service Officer position. This is an entry-level, non-sworn position that contributes to the work of the Savage Police Department by assisting sworn and civilian Police Department staff, maintaining effective community relations, investigating non-crime ordinance violations, and assisting with minor traffic matters. Position also delivers and picks up packages, evidence, forfeited items, and court documents; and performs various support tasks including filing, data entry, data retrieval, telephone answering, and other duties as assigned.

This is an entry-level, uniformed position working approximately 29 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be currently enrolled at an accredited college, university or technical school pursuing a degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or a closely related field. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a thorough background investigation, physical examination, and psychological evaluation.
