Job summary

Carver County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota is seeking a full-time Community Service Officer (CSO) to support non-sworn operations across divisions. The CSO will assist with non-emergency public safety tasks, engage with the public to promote safety, and help coordinate with contract communities and kennels under supervision.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and two (2) years related work experience
Associates degree in any field of study and one (1) year related work experience
Bachelor's degree in any field of study
Valid MN Drivers License or ability to obtain with 60 days of employment

Responsibilities

Enforce local ordinances of the contracting communities relating to animals.
Respond and handle non‑emergency public safety calls for service that do not require a licensed peace officer.
Proactively engage with community members through patrol, public interactions, and educational events to promote public safety
Act as a liaison with contract community leaders and city/township contracted kennels.
May assist in scheduling CSOs into contract communities to fulfill the contractual obligations.
Educate and enforce County ordinances through patrol activities of County parks and regional trails.
Other duties as assigned.
