Job summary

Hudson Guild seeks a dedicated Security Guard to maintain a safe and welcoming environment during peak hours and events. You will monitor access, patrol premises, and respond to safety concerns while collaborating with staff and community members.

Requirements include a High school diploma, NYS Security Guard Registration, and 2+ years in security. Evening shifts (1:00 PM–9:00 PM) are expected, with flexibility for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card.
• Minimum of 2 years of security or related experience.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to respond calmly to emergencies and maintain composure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, professional security presence during peak hours.
• Monitor entrances/exits and ensure safe access for staff, participants, visitors, and vendors.
• Conduct regular patrols of building and surrounding areas.
• Support safe building operations during after-school and evening programs.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies.
• De-escalate conflicts and communicate effectively with staff and visitors.
• Collaborate with program, facilities and operations teams on security concerns.
• Maintain security logs and document incidents.
