Job summary

Horizon House is actively seeking an experienced Security Officer to serve residents and guests on our Seattle campus. This role emphasizes safety, clear communication, responding to requests for service, and implementing Horizon House policies.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of security and 1 year of customer service, a guard card preferred, training in de-escalation, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Evening/night/weekend shifts with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of security experience or a structured security training program.
• One (1) year of customer service experience.
• Guard card preferred.
• Experience or training in de-escalation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus interior and exterior to ensure safety.
• Address suspicious activity using non-violent de-escalation.
• Answer phones, screen calls, take messages, transfer as needed.
• Greet visitors and assist residents, vendors, and guests.
• Prepare hourly security log and report concerns.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies per established procedures.
• Conduct safety drills and inspections; report outcomes.
