Job summary

Metropolitan Family Services is seeking a Community Schools Coordinator for the Calumet office in Chicago. You will supervise staff, oversee out-of-school-time programs, and coordinate trainings and advisory board activities to support learning and community development.

The role demands collaboration with school personnel, strong organizational skills, and a flexible schedule including some evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of total combined (work/volunteer/internship) experience in program development or program management, and working with children in an educational, activity, or social service program required.
• OR High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years of total combined (work/volunteer/internship) experience in program development or program management, and working with children in an educational, activity, or social service program required.
• 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Community School staff may include interns and volunteers; develops comprehensive trainings and participates in the hiring and termination process of program staff.
• Manages all components of the Community School which includes out-of-school-time programs, adult services, family and community activities, recruitment and retention, and community development.
• Utilizes skills to address risk management with a restorative approach in the Community School program.
• Conducts needs assessments to ensure services are learning-focused, culturally competent, restorative, and meet community needs.
• Plans and recommends high-quality program activities aligned with the Community School's mission and pillars.
• Facilitates Community School Advisory Board meetings and coordinates with board to ensure deliverables.
• Manages the Community School budget and reporting, ensuring expenditures stay within budget and financial reports are reviewed.
