Job summary

City of Mableton is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to protect life and property, deter crime, and respond to incidents across the City of Mableton, GA. You will patrol, assess threats, and coordinate with EMS and other agencies to keep the community safe.

This full‑time position requires POST certification, a High School diploma or GED, and the ability to communicate clearly with diverse residents. Applicants must be ready for shift work, courtroom testimony, and ongoing training in firearms

Qualifications

• Knowledge of law enforcement concepts, terminology, and procedures.
• Strong report writing and records management abilities.
• Ability to apply crisis intervention and risk assessment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with diverse groups.
• Smart decision-making under stress and in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and responds to calls to protect life and property.
• Enforces laws, issues citations, and makes arrests as needed.
• Completes incident and progress reports with accuracy.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates with EMS.
• Testifies in court and participates in trainings.
• Provides mutual aid and supports community outreach.
• Participates in daily roll calls and maintains certifications.
• Performs special assignments such as court security or transport.
