Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or at least 60 college credits) or a Bachelor's in a related field, or equivalent combination.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver's License; First Aid/CPR Certification and Radar Certification preferred.
• Must be certifiable in Wisconsin law enforcement or have Certification before beginning field training.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective patrol coverage of a section during an assigned shift.
• Respond to dispatched calls for service including emergency and non-emergency incidents.
• Investigate crimes and ordinance violations, detect and apprehend violators.
• Arrest and make criminal referrals; provide back-up to other officers.
• Engage in foot pursuits and use-of-force actions when necessary.
• Direct traffic and ensure traffic safety during patrols and stops.
