Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma and eligibility for Wisconsin L.E.S.B. certification.
• Must be 18+ and a U.S. citizen with good moral character.
• Must possess a valid WI driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass required training and exams during the department’s time frame.
• Ability to carry a firearm and perform duties.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrol county highways and enforce traffic laws; issue citations.
• Investigate traffic accidents and related incidents; complete written reports.
• Testify in court and provide testimony for traffic cases.
• Respond to criminal complaints and gather evidence.
• Supervise inmates and transport to jail or court when needed.
• Provide community policing and public safety outreach.
