Job summary

Manhattan District Attorney’s Office (DANY) seeks a Community Engagement Coordinator within the Community Partnerships Unit to foster trust, raise awareness of public safety work, and expand access to services for Upper West Side and Upper East Side communities.

The role involves coordinating outreach, events, and campaigns with community groups, government partners, and local residents. Strong communication, organization, and bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred) are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and one year in community or government relations work.
• Alternately, high school graduation with five years of related community/government relations experience.
• Residency requirement notes may vary by City/County policy.

Responsibilities

• Engage with community groups to identify crime concerns and plan strategies.
• Attend community meetings to promote the office's initiatives and collect information.
• Lead presentations and events to discuss public safety resources and programs.
• Develop a current understanding of Manhattan crime issues and quality of life concerns.
• Represent DANY at public meetings and engage with community leaders and officials.
• Inform internal staff of relevant public safety issues and coordinate with partners.
