Job summary

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office seeks an experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to connect with Bronx communities, organize outreach activities, and coordinate events with partner organizations. The role focuses on educating the community about the criminal justice system and building strong community relations.

Responsibilities include representing BXDA at meetings, planning events, and supporting educational programs in schools, with evening and weekend commitments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a high school diploma and 10 years of experience in community work or related fields.
  • Preferred bilingual ability (Spanish or French/Creole).
  • Willingness to work nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Represent BXDA at monthly precinct, community board, and other community meetings.
  • Plan, coordinate, promote, and schedule internal and external BXDA events and conferences.
  • Represent the BXDA in initiatives such as National Night Out and gun buy backs.
  • Facilitate educational programs in schools for students and parent groups.
  • Manage constituent inquiries and help build community relations.
  • Maintain relationships with elected officials, schools, clergy, merchant associations, and community organizations.
  • Accompany DA to public events.
  • Assist with special events and projects as needed.
