Job summary

GLIDE in San Francisco is seeking a Community Safety & Operations Assistant Manager to oversee daily safety operations, supervise the Safety Team, and ensure policy adherence while coordinating with the Community Safety and Operations Manager.

The role requires 3+ years of supervisory experience, strong communication, trauma‑informed leadership, and proficiency with MS Office/Excel. Evening and weekend duties may be required as GLIDE serves a 24/7 community.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct supervisory experience managing people, workflows and resources.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Experience working with vulnerable and marginalised communities.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel; database experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforce operations and emergency response plans; ensure safety roles are fulfilled.
• Provide direct security, reception, navigation, and management for majority of time.
• Supervise shifts, optimize staffing, provide weekly feedback, track KPIs; assist in hiring and onboarding.
• Safeguard assets and ensure adherence to SOPs; document delivery and disposition daily.
• Lead and coach the Safety Team; model trauma-informed practices and inclusivity.
