Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Community Staff Pharmacist (PRN Float) to join our Pharmacy team across LaGrange, New Albany, IN, and Louisville. The role supports the Community Pharmacy Manager, oversees operations and staff development, and ensures accurate dispensing and immunization services.

You will ensure compliance with policies, manage inventory and 340B integrity as applicable, maintain patient records, support transitions of care, and provide timely, friendly service to patients.

Qualifications

• Indiana and Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
• Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Immunization certification within 6 months of hire.
• Community Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel to KY/IN locations (LaGrange, New Albany, IN, and Louisville).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Community Pharmacy Manager with operations and staff oversight.
• Support orientation, training, and development of community pharmacy staff.
• Ensure compliance with Baptist Health policies, 340B (if applicable), accrediting bodies, REMS, and state/federal regulations.
• Complete claim and invoice reconciliation as needed by the Community Pharmacy Manager.
• Maintain inventory control and 340B program integrity as applicable.
• Monitor drug shortages and implement solutions to avoid therapy delays.
• Ensure immunization protocols are followed and staff trained (including BLS).
• Ensure proper storage and security of medications and controlled substances.
• Coordinate safe transitions of care from hospital to patients and caregivers.
• Provide prompt, friendly service prioritizing patient well-being.
• Perform duties of Community Pharmacy Manager during their absence.

SummaryThis position assists the Community Pharmacy Manager with the direction and development of pharmacy staff to optimize patient experience and delivery of services. The Community Staff Pharmacist provides direct patient care services including but not limited to drug regimen review, disease state management, medication counseling, adherence monitoring, discharge medication reconciliation, prescription dispensing, and immunization administration. Proficient with all steps of dispensing and verification workflows. This position is responsible for performing all pharmacy operations in accordance with accredited policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, Board of Pharmacy, and State and Federal requirements. The Community Staff Pharmacist maintains appropriate patient record documentation for clinical and dispensing services. Adheres to best practices for medication safety and ensures appropriate documentation of medication events.
