Job summary

Franklin County is seeking a creative and community-driven Recreational Program Coordinator to design and manage youth and adult athletic programs and recreational events for residents of all ages. The role requires leadership, collaboration, and the ability to translate ideas into engaging community activities.

It also involves developing new programs, managing budgets, cultivating partnerships, and guiding staff while coordinating evening and weekend events.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in recreation administration or related field, and considerable related experience in programming athletic or recreation programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPRP certification is required within the first year of employment.
• NSC First Aid, CPR & AED certification is required within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees athletic programming functions for the County, including administration, supervision, development, coaching and officiating as needed.
• Plans and coordinates an expanding program of recreation for all ages and interests.
• Hires and supervises part-time staff; manages budgets and prepares reports.
• Publicizes programs through brochures and media releases; builds community partnerships.
