Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and evaluate sports, recreation, and wellness programs in the Denver Red Shield area. The role focuses on inclusive, high‑quality opportunities for youth, adults, seniors, and individuals with special needs, aligning with the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities include program planning, safety enforcement, staff supervision, budget oversight, and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, Physical Education, or related field.
• Two years of experience in recreational programming with leadership/supervisory roles.
• Experience with diverse urban communities, preferably in Denver.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee sports leagues, tournaments, fitness classes, open gyms, events, and rentals.
• Deliver programming that is Christ-centered with daily prayer, scripture reading, or devotions.
• Supervise and train staff, coaches, referees, and volunteers; ensure positive role modeling.
