Job summary

Loudoun County's Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) is seeking a qualified Recreation Programmer to create and supervise high-quality community programs and mobile recreation services at the Philomont Community Center in Virginia. The role focuses on developing imaginative initiatives and coordinating events for diverse age groups.

Ideal candidates will have experience in program development, stakeholder engagement, and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; two years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• Proficiency in childcare licensing regulations and interview procedures is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
• Experience in marketing and promoting programs, and managing large-scale events.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and oversee a comprehensive array of recreational initiatives for diverse community groups.
• Interact with community stakeholders to assess needs and ensure programs are accessible to all demographics.
• Coordinate and supervise management of special events, including design, promotions, operations, budgeting, and staff allocation.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to maximize participation in recreation programs.
• Oversee part-time instructors and seasonal camp personnel, including staff recruiting, scheduling, and professional development.
• Utilize software systems (recreation management software, Microsoft Office, Canva, RecTrac) for efficient program administration and customer service.
