Job summary

City of Memphis seeks an enthusiastic Community Center staff member to lead class instruction and recreational activities, including sports, under the direction of the Community Center Director or Assistant Director.

The role coordinates rental facility functions, provides clerical and custodial support, and supervises staff and participants. Evening and weekend shifts are possible to support city programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions.
• Experience in recreation education and/or training is required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver license; must attain 'F' Endorsement within 90 days from start of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead class instruction and recreational activities, including sports.
• Coordinate rental facility functions and provide clerical/custodial support.
• Supervise staff and participants; direct facility operations in the absence of management.
• Transport participants to recreational activities at various City locations.
