Job summary

HELP USA is seeking a Recreation Aide to support adults in one of our temporary housing facilities. You will help develop and run a recreational program that promotes social connection and well-being while ensuring safety and inclusivity.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to use Microsoft Office tools to organize schedules, track participation, and coordinate with staff and residents to deliver engaging activities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be creative, responsible, patient, kind, and caring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a recreational program for all age groups to foster socialization and well-being.
• Ensure recreational services are accessible for residents with special needs.
• Encourage full participation to maximize use of services.
• Engage in community outreach to secure resources and donations.
• Develop a resource guide of local free and inexpensive recreational options.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment for all participants.
• Develop a departmental budget including needs and wish lists.
