Job summary

The City of Douglasville is hiring a part-time Recreation Assistant to support daily operations in a recreation facility and park. Duties include setup, program support, and customer service with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities cover event preparation, safety enforcement, and basic administrative tasks while maintaining clean, welcoming spaces for community activities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
• Prior work experience or community volunteer experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Customer service experience or skills are beneficial.
• Cash handling or payment processing familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily workflow and operations to ensure programs, rentals, and services run smoothly and spaces are ready for use.
• Open and close facilities following procedures to ensure security and readiness.
• Prepare spaces for programs and events by coordinating setup, equipment, and supplies; handle post-event reset.
• Assist with planning and implementing recreation projects and events per guidelines.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment; address issues per city policies and safety standards.
• Enforce facility rules and policies for consistent customer experience and safety.
• Provide in-person and phone customer service for programs, rentals, and registrations.
