Job summary

City of Columbia seeks a dedicated professional to develop and implement city-wide athletic and cultural arts programs. You will collaborate with local agencies to deliver diverse offerings and supervise staff and volunteers to ensure quality experiences for residents.

The role includes coordinating youth and adult activities, managing budgets, and ensuring safety and compliance across facilities and events. Experience in parks and recreation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, parks and recreation administration, leisure services or closely related field.
• Two (2) years of relevant prior experience.
• Valid South Carolina Class “D” Driver’s License.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within six (6) months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and implementation of city-wide athletic and cultural arts programs.
• Collaborate with local agencies to ensure effective programming.
• Provide supervision and administrative support for staff and volunteers.
• Plan and coordinate youth and adult leagues, clinics, and special events.
• Manage program budgets, fees, and sponsorships.
• Maintain facilities, vehicles, and equipment; ensure safety and compliance.
