Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Recreation Center Assistant to support and assist the recreation programs at community centers. You will coordinate logistics for youth services, senior assistance, and special events, while delivering friendly customer service to Dallas residents.

You will help plan and implement activities for all ages, maintain records, and support daily operations including registrations and ID cards. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic city environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of recreation facilities and programming.
• Ability to work with children, youth, and adults.
• Knowledge of sports and general rules.
• Knowledge of first aid principles and practices.
• Ability to engage a diverse community through recreation activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing programs for recreation centers.
• Leads activities, teaches sports procedures, and explains rules to participants.
• Supports after-school programs and helps with logistics and safety.
• Maintains attendance and participation records and reports revenues.
• Provides information and excellent customer service to participants and the public.
• Handles registrations, schedules, and basic administrative tasks daily.
• Transports youth to field trips and events when needed.
• Enforces game rules and safety precautions during activities.
• Assists with outreach and marketing materials for programs and events.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
