Job summary

Midland County seeks a Community Resource Specialist to support patrol deputies and investigators by handling walk-in and telephone reports, updating case files, and preparing routine reports for command staff.

The role requires knowledge of the Texas criminal justice system, TLETS, CJIS, and solid office practices; candidates must have a Texas driver’s license and strong computer/communication skills.

Qualifications

• Certification with the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications Service (TLETS).
• Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system; TLETS and CJIS; and standard office practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Take walk-in and telephone reports and enter into the computer systems.
• Prepare reports for the chain of command and Sheriff.
• Maintain and update case files.
• Scan investigative reports and case information.
• Assist in preparing monthly and yearly reports for chain of command and Sheriff.
• Attend court as required and abide by policies and laws.
