Shelter House is seeking a friendly Community Receptionist in Cincinnati to be the face of the office. You will greet guests, handle inquiries, manage meeting setups and perform various office duties with professionalism and courtesy.

The role requires reliable, punctual staff with strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and after-hours coverage when needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 1+ year of related customer service experience.
  • 1+ year of receptionist experience.

Responsibilities

  • Relay incoming and interoffice calls.
  • Greet visitors and direct them to the correct offices.
  • Accept and sign for packages.
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary workspace.
  • Relay resident messages to the supervisor.
  • Check sex offender website upon intakes.
  • Maintain sign-in sheet for new clients and volunteers.
  • Process financial mail.
  • Run reports in VESTA per requests.
  • Post daily activities through Yammer network.
  • Manage the queue in VESTA.
  • Update day calendars for clients and staff.
  • Assist donations and Shelterhouse management.

Position Overview

Shelter Houseisa community of residents, staff and volunteers working together to provide basic human services for the men and women of the Greater Cincinnati area who are experiencing homelessness.TheCommunityReceptionist is responsible forbeing the face ofShelter Housewhich includes greeting guests,handling inquiries,setting meetings and managing various office duties.

Essential Job Duties
  • Relay incoming and interoffice calls
  • Greet all visitors/clients, directing them to the correct offices when necessary
  • Acceptandsign for packages
  • Maintain anorganizedand sanitary workspace
  • Relay all resident messages to the appropriate supervisor
  • Check sex offender website upon all intakes
  • Maintain sign in sheet for new clients and volunteers
  • Process financial mail
  • Run reports in VESTA per requests
  • Post daily activities through Yammer network

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma is required
  • 1+ Years of related Customer Service
  • 1+ year of receptionist experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Must present a warm, welcoming and professional demeanor with staff, clients and the outside community
  • Must have strong verbal, written and time management skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Must be able to navigate a multi-line phone system
  • Ability to work in Office 365
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, holidays and cover for call-offs as needed.
