Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and 21+ years old.
• Basic Peace Officer’s License (TCOLE) and Lateral Entry eligibility with two consecutive years at a comparable city/agency.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• For U.S. Military Service, DD214 is required.
• Visual acuity in both eyes, correctable to 20/20.
• Valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Computer literate.
• Must meet all physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and protect the community through prevention, intervention, education and enforcement.
• Enforce local, state and federal laws and department regulations.
• Arrest law violators, transport and process suspects, testify in court.
• Investigate crimes and accidents, collect evidence, and secure scenes.
• Respond to emergencies and manage traffic incidents and crowd control.
• Plan crime prevention programs and engage with schools and community groups.
