Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in City and Regional Planning, Geography, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Government, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in public planning, zoning or similar capacity.
  • Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) desirable or working towards.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and review planning data to ensure compliance with County standards.
  • Review and process applications, permits, site plans, zoning requests, variances, and special use permits.
  • Prepare studies, reports, and technical analyses to support decision making.
  • Interpret planning regulations and provide guidance to officials, staff, developers, and the public.
  • Maintain zoning maps and related records; support outreach and public hearings.
