Job summary

Doña Ana County is seeking a Senior Planner-Lead in the Current Planning Division to provide advanced land use planning services under the direction of the Chief Planner. The role includes oversight of staff, development of work programs, budgets, and public outreach.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in planning or related field and at least four years of progressive planning experience. AICP certification or ability to obtain within two years is required.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in land use, comprehensive, community or regional planning or similar capacity.
• Knowledge of county land use, zoning and development regulations and planning concepts.
• Experience with preparing staff reports and presenting complex technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with updating the Doña Ana County Unified Development Code.
• Prepare staff reports, presentations, and recommendations on complex issues.
• Organize public outreach and education for county initiatives.
• Develop and review short- and long-range work plans and schedules.
