Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Community Pharmacy Technician II in the Employee Pharmacy. The role supports the prescription preparation process, including compounding, preparation, and dispensing, while greeting patients and collecting information for data entry and claims processing.

Technicians assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, stocking and record keeping, operating under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to obtain level 2 AHCA clearance.
• One year of Pharmacy Technician experience at SMHCS or comparable organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of prescription preparation, including compounding, preparation and dispensing.
• Greet patients, collect information, enter patient data and process claims.
• Refer inquiries outside PDT scope to supervising pharmacist.
• Maintain pharmaceutical inventory through ordering, receiving, stocking and record keeping.
• Work under the supervision of registered pharmacists; do not perform duties reserved for licensed pharmacists.

Job Summary

The Community Pharmacy Technician II supports all aspects of the prescription preparation process including compounding, preparation, and dispensing. This also includes greeting the patient, collecting information, entering patient data, processing claims, and referring inquires that are out of the scope of the PDT's license to a supervising pharmacist.The Community Pharmacy Technician II assists in maintaining pharmaceutical inventory and supplies through ordering, receiving, stocking and record keeping.Community Pharmacy technicians work under the direction supervision of registered pharmacists. Pharmacy technicians do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Florida registered pharmacy technicians are governed by Section 465.014, Florida Statutes, and Rule 64B16-26.103, 64B16.350, 64B16-26.351, 64B16-27.410, 64B16-27.420 and, Florida Administrative Code.

Required Qualifications

• Require active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern license.
• Require the ability to obtain level 2 AHCA clearance.
• Require one (1) year of experience in a Pharmacy Technician role within SMHCS or comparable organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer one (1) to three (3) years of recent, community pharmacy practice experience.
• Prefer excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
