Job summary

SLUCare Physician Group, a member of SSM Health, is seeking a community pathologist to provide laboratory leadership and general coverage for two hospitals in central southern Illinois (Mt. Vernon and Centralia).

Responsibilities include surgical pathology, cytopathology, and clinical pathology, with collaboration across hospital campuses. The ideal candidate holds a Doctorate in Medicine with board certification in AP/CP (or APCP eligibility) and will be licensed to practice in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in medicine (MD).
• BC in AP/CP, APCP board eligibility.
• Illinois medical license or ability to obtain one (required).

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical pathology and cytopathology coverage.
• Lead laboratory operations at two hospitals.
• Collaborate with hospital clinicians and pathology faculty.
• Maintain patient records and comply with bylaws.
• Perform other duties as required.
