We’re looking for a people-first, community-driven

Job Description

We’re looking for a people-first, community-driven Outreach Specialist to join our team and help connect youth ages 12–24 to programs that promote healing, empowerment, and safety. This is a part-time, grant-funded role focused on grassroots outreach, relationship building, and increasing access to services for underserved youth in Maricopa County.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct community-based and virtual outreach to engage youth ages 12–24
• Build authentic relationships with schools, shelters, service providers, and local leaders
• Distribute flyers, materials, and program information across Maricopa County
• Assist with youth intake, sign-ups, and service referrals
• Represent Melabiz at community events, pop-ups, and partner meetings
• Track outreach activity and maintain basic data logs
• Collaborate with the team to identify outreach needs and high-impact areas
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in outreach, community engagement, or youth services preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Tempe and surrounding areas in Maricopa County
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and represent the organization professionally
• Reliable transportation required (mileage is not reimbursed)
• Commitment to a trauma-informed, inclusive, and youth-centered approach

• Some evenings or weekends may be required; scheduling is flexible based on outreach needs.
