Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions in Dallas is hiring a Community Outreach Specialist to deliver program orientations, WIOA screenings, and group workshops across workforce centers. You will register participants in WorkInTexas and present services to educate on available programs.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, reliability, and the ability to work independently. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; travel between sites is expected, and you will help with data entry,

• Associates Degree or comparable years of related case management and job matching experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel between sites and workforce centers as needed.

• Serve as point of contact for youth workforce services.

Job Description

TheCommunity Outreach Specialistwill provide program orientations, WorkinTexas.com registrations, one-on-one or small group setting workshops and program presentations. Eligibility for WIOA could be verified to educate participants on the program and services available.

• Provide screening for program eligibility and job search assistance.
• Prioritize assignments and recognize the need to adjust or adapt within a group setting or deliver one-on-one services.
• Interact with job seekers to ensure appropriate matches with employers' needs and job postings.
• Ensure data entry, documentation, tracking and reporting are completed in a timely manner.
• Support team with program workshops, including but not limited to interviewing skills, resume writing, and job search techniques.
• Facilitate orientations and presentations for workforce center services on a consistent basis
• Travel from site to site and between workforce centers as needed.
• Coordinate and communicate timely and professionally with community organizations.
• Serve as point of contact for customers interested in youth workforce services
• Flexibility to co-locate within community based and non-profit organizations to provide workforce services to participants and/or families on-site.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from a recognized community college or four-year college or university, and/or comparable years of related case management and job matching experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Demonstrate reliability and able to work independently.
• Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.
• Public speaking experience.
• Demonstrated computer skills, with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with management, coworkers, workers from other programs as well as the public.
• Must be organized and detailed oriented.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
