The University of Arizona’s School Garden Workshop (SGW) uses school gardens as hands‑on learning environments that connect academics to sustainability, local ecology, and food systems. Through this service‑learning program, interns support garden development in underserved Tucson schools, working with educators and K‑12 students. The Sonoran Desert School Gardener’s Almanac—an annually published, free resource—extends this impact by connecting classrooms and communities to regional knowledge through partnerships with local contributors.
