Job summary

Boston Public Schools Newcomers Academy in Boston, MA is seeking a Community Field Coordinator (CFC) for a temporary vacancy to support school-wide community outreach programs.

The CFC will establish partnerships with community and corporate organizations, engage families, and coordinate events that celebrate the diverse heritage of our students while maintaining professionalism and collaboration with school staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 48 college credit hours or an associate's degree, or valid para-pro/workkeys assessment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience building community partnerships and networks.
• Experience working with youth.
• Experience with community-based organizations, especially migrants/immigrant families.
• Cultural sensitivity to diverse student needs.
• Team player.
• Ability to work in the United States on day one.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and develop marketing plan for school communications (newsletter/brochures).
• Establish formal/informal partnerships with community and corporate agencies.
• Initiate community outreach using culturally and linguistically appropriate strategies.
• Coordinate events and celebrations reflecting students' diverse heritage.
• Develop strategies to ensure parent/family involvement.
• Support coordination of parent/community advocacy and school support.
• Make phone contact with students' parents/guardians.
• Identify resources/ speakers for dialogues and student engagement.
• Develop corporate partnerships for additional resources.

Education
