Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an Outreach Program Associate to support Shady Grove Family YMCA & Woodman West Housing Community. This part-time role focuses on building relationships, coordinating programs, and ensuring welcoming learning environments for participants and families.

You will work with English as a Second Language initiatives and other community-based activities, communicate with caregivers, supervise volunteers, and travel between branch locations as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to communicate clearly.
• Experience with computers and customer service preferred.
• Willing to work on projects with varying programming/reporting requirements.
• Some evenings and weekends required.
• Travel to multiple locations and events.
• Effective communication with others.
• May lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, community members, staff and partners.
• Ensure programming logistics are prepared.
• Create safe and productive learning environments.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers of youth involved.
• Train and supervise volunteers during programming.
