Job summary

STRIVE in Birmingham, AL seeks an Outreach Specialist to build community partnerships, drive enrollment, and manage intake documents across STRIVE’s programs. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, experience with grassroots outreach, and the ability to maintain accurate CRM records.

You will lead student recruitment, coordinate information sessions and events, and collaborate with the Marketing team on collateral.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of experience working with populations facing barriers to employment.
• Experience conducting grassroots community outreach to engage justice-impacted individuals.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in entering data into cloud-based CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Apricot, or other comparable platforms.
• Data-driven approach with ability to use reports in service delivery.
• Ability to work under pressure and high-volume workload.
• Self-directed, creative, and motivated.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain relationships with student referral sources.
• Track outreach and monitor progress in a cloud-based CRM while meeting metrics.
• Collaborate with program leads to assess enrollment needs.
• Develop and execute outreach plans to maximize sessions and applications.
• Manage recruitment reports and connect prospective students to information sessions.
• Input data for weekly information session attendance, submissions, and leads.
• Report new contacts and applications weekly.
• Collaborate with team to facilitate STRIVE information sessions.
• Coordinate relationships with community groups serving our population needs.
• Plan recruitment events and attend community events for recruitment.
• Maintain student referral distribution list.
• Oversee marketing material inventory and distribution.
• Work with Marketing & Communications on collateral materials.
• Occasionally attend meetings or events outside normal hours.
• Additional duties as required.
