Job summary

Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. is seeking an Outreach Coordinator for the Northridge/Brulene/Southridge NORC program in Jackson Heights/East Elmhurst.

The role focuses on expanding participation and visibility through community events and remote engagement. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of related experience, strong MS Office skills, and bilingual abilities (Spanish, Mandarin, or Urdu preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively present information to older adults and the public.
• Basic technical skills and data entry proficiency.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office; bilingual in community languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate on NORC program specifics and community served.
• Develop outreach plan and engage new participants in person and remotely.
• Identify clients needing technology support and assist with access to remote programming.
• Organize NORC outreach events and promote NORC programs at community events.
• Make outreach calls to inform and remind clients of activities to boost participation.
• Support setup/cleanup of program rooms and update the NORC website and social media.
