Job summary

Denton County Friends of the Family seeks a compassionate Community Outreach Driver to join our Operations Team. You will transport donated items between locations, assist with the Transitional Housing program, and help maintain agency facilities and vehicles.

You will drive box trucks and vans, perform weekly vehicle inspections, support agency events, and represent the organization positively in the community. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 23 years of age.
• Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks.
• Strong customer service and cross-site communication skills.
• Evening and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pick-up and transportation of donated items.
• Assist with client move-ins for Transitional Housing.
• Maintain facilities by cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
• Support Marketing and Development events with setup and teardown.
• Drive company vehicles and conduct weekly vehicle inspections.
• Represent the agency positively in the community.
• Attend DCFOF training and staff meetings as requested.

Job description

Position Objective

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Community Outreach Driver to join our Operations Team. The Community Outreach Driver is responsible for the pick up and transportation of donated items and necessary supplies for the agency between multiple facility locations. The Community Outreach Driver also assists with basic upkeep and maintenance of agency facilities and vehicles.

Primary Functions

• Coordinate the pick-up and transportation of donated items for the Operations, Thrift Store and Marketing and Development Teams, including moving large, heavy, and/or bulk items
• Assist Transitional Housing program with client move ins
• Ensure agency facilities are maintained in a clean and organized manner at all times, including completing basic cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Assist Marketing and Development team with agency events, including set up and tear downs
• Maintain agency storage facilities in a clean and organized manner including maintaining inventories of these units
• Drive company vehicles including box truck and van in a safe manner to complete assigned tasks
• Conduct weekly vehicle inspections for routine maintenance needs
• Preserve and enhance the agency’s image in the community through all interactions
• Participate in DCFOF training, staff and educational meetings as requested

Prerequisites

• Ability to communicate effectively while working across multiple sites
• Availability for evening and weekend duties as needed

Preferences

• Experience with transporting supplies and materials to multiple locations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to easily climb stairs
• Ability to lift, push, pull furniture and other items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, kneel or walk for extended periods of time
