Job summary

VOALA is seeking an Outreach Specialist to promote our program in surrounding areas, support crises, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide case management, housing referrals, and financial counseling.

You will conduct street outreach, needs assessments, and crisis stabilization, coordinating with housing staff to assist participants in securing permanent housing and accessing services. This role emphasizes community engagement and holistic support.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Ability to work under emotional stress with at-risk populations.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related discipline, or four years of equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides street outreach, engagement, crisis stabilization, trauma-informed case management, and referral services for clients and their families.
• Conducts initial street screenings, immediate needs assessments, and crisis stabilization.
• Assists case managers in housing placement and information referrals as part of the program.
• Maintains and records client information and progress in HMIS and related reports.
• Coordinates outreach efforts with Case Management team and supports van-based or on-site services.
• Leads life skills workshops and supports crisis intervention as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related discipline

Or Equivalent combination of education and work experience (four years)
