Salary: $56,365.40
Hourly: $30.97
Pay Range: 7
Reports to: Community Outreach Manager
Hours: 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m Monday-Friday*
- Hours/Days will vary depending upon the needs of the department.
What do you need to have?
Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, marketing, or related field and a minimum of two years related experience in journalism, community outreach, public relations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must be able to understand, speak, translate, write, and read fluently both Spanish and English. Valid Driver’s License and state required liability insurance coverage.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication. Must maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and business integrity. You must be comfortable with public speaking and engaging with members of the community to facilitate public education and staff recruitment. Please bring yourself, this is not a remote position.
What you will be doing?
Performs outreach and community engagement, including primary responsibility for Hispanic outreach and community engagement. You will represent the BOE at Hispanic community outreach and speaking events. Additionally, you will develop and strengthen the relationship with local political and community stakeholder leaders. Collect and analyze data and information then creates summaries, analyses, and reports for activities including but not limited to Hispanic voter turnout reports and tracking community partner engagement. You will help maintain event calendars and create short-term and long-term communication goals. You will write and edit voter education materials, press releases, speeches and other communications representing the agency. You will be responsible for preparing and monitoring social media posts targeted to the Hispanic community. You will represent the board at meetings, public speaking engagements, as well as deliver presentations to civic groups.

Role
The principal role of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is to perform the fundamental and vital functions of administering our elections. In carrying out its mission, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will seek to achieve the following objectives:
- To provide access and opportunity for all citizens to participate in the electoral process
- To provide prompt and accurate election results
- To conduct all activities in a way that assures equal opportunity for all employees and citizens
- To conduct all such action in the most effective and efficient manner
- To perform all other duties as prescribed by law of the State of Ohio and the rules of the chief election official, the Secretary of State
