The University of South Florida is seeking a Case Coordinator to provide case management and care coordination for eligible children and families in the Florida Early Steps Program. The role involves developing Family Support Plans and performing community-based case coordination. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields and at least one year of professional experience. Strong preference for bilingual Spanish speakers and those with extensive case management experience.
USF Division of Child Development resides within the Department of Pediatrics in the College of Medicine. The Division Chief reports to the Department Chairman of Pediatrics. The division has an administrative team comprising 3 Program Coordinators, one Division Administrator, and the Division Chief. The staff includes 25 case coordinators, 2-5 developmental specialists or clinical positions (ARNP), 5 administrative support staff, and 2 faculty psychologists. Additionally, 3-6 graduate students serve as OPS staff to provide clinical services.
The Case Coordinator reports to the assigned Program Coordinator for daily supervision. The role involves providing targeted case management and care coordination for eligible children and families in the Florida Early Steps Program. Responsibilities include reviewing charts for program eligibility, completing required documentation, developing individualized Family Support Plans as part of a multidisciplinary team, assisting families with goals through support and community referrals, and performing community-based case coordination. All work must be documented appropriately.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in psychology, social work, health education, sociology, early childhood, child development, or special education (or equivalent). A minimum of one year of professional experience with young children and families in case management, teaching, counseling, or with individuals with developmental delays is required. A three-year documented experience can substitute for the degree. Teaching experience should be limited to children in pre-K to Kindergarten. Relevant internship or practicum experience may be considered for trainee appointments.
Four years of relevant experience can substitute for a bachelor's degree.
Five or more years in a case management role, experience with agencies such as Early Steps, HKI, Children's Home, CMS, CPT, or Healthy Families/Healthy Start Programs. Bilingual Spanish speakers are strongly preferred.
