Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. is seeking a Community Outreach Specialist to coordinate intake, needs assessment, and referrals across Brooklyn and Queens.

The role involves traveling to satellite locations and community events, documenting services, and building linkages with local networks. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, plus experience with low-income families and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
• 2 years of experience working with low income families is preferred.
• Proficient in professional social work generalist practice skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and transactional skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish, English/Arabic, English/Cantonese/Mandarin, and/or English/ Russian preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various sites throughout Brooklyn and Queens to provide service coordination.
• Provide direct service coordination to clients, including intake documentation, needs assessment, linkage, and follow-up on referrals.
• Collaborate with internal and external networks to connect clients with needed services.
• Document services and referrals accurately in the agency database.
• Assist in development of events affiliated with food pantries, parishes, and community sites.
